1.3 - Baery Installaon
Aaching and Detaching the Lithium Ion Baery
The CR3500 can be purchased with a 1950 mAH Lithium Ion baery. To install baery, make sure the baery is in the correct posion
(Figure 1.1). Place the plasc tab of the baery into the reader slot (Figure 1.2). Push the baery in and slide the locking mechanism
down (Figure 1.3).
Note: Baeries ships with approximately 50% baery life. Fully charge baery before use. Approximate charge me is 4 hours when
baery depleted.
Charging Opons: A CR3500 can be charged, via cable, when connected to a host device. Addionally, Code has a full line of charging
opons, please refer to Code’s website at www.codecorp.com. Note: The RS232 interface power adapter must be plugged into a wall
socket for the reader to charge.

1. To aach a Baery Handle, insert the tab on the back of the Baery Handle into the readers recessed slot. (Figure 1.4)
2. Press the reader down, towards the handle to snap into place. (Figure 1.5) Oponally, the reader can be further secured
to the handle with two threaded screws on the underside of the reader and handle (screws are included with Baery
Handles). (Figure 6)
3. To detach a Baery Handle, slide the locking mechanism on the reader up and pull the baery handle up and away from
the slot on the reader.

1.5 - Powering On/O Reader
To power on the reader, press and hold either of the red trigger buons for one
second (Figure 1.7).
The reader will power down aer 2 hours of non-use. To change the default
sengs, please see Secon 4.6 - Reader Power O Sengs.
